Church Exterior Soft Wash That Brought Back the Clean

Churches see a lot of foot traffic, and the exterior takes the brunt of everything - dirt, algae, mildew, bug buildup, you name it. Over time, that grime stacks up in places you might not even notice until someone points it out. The fascia and soffit line especially tend to collect heavy organic debris and insect residue that just won't budge without the right cleaning approach.

That's exactly what we were working with here. The buildup along the roofline and around the light fixtures was significant - dark streaking and debris coating the block wall and overhang. We used soft washing to treat the entire exterior. Soft washing uses a low-pressure application with a cleaning solution that actually breaks down and kills the organic matter at the source - algae, mildew, dirt, all of it. It's the right call for painted block and older masonry because it cleans deep without risking any damage to the surface. The covered porch area, columns, and ceiling got full attention too.

After the wash, the difference is night and day. The white block walls are clean and uniform, the soffit is bright, and the whole property just looks sharp. That's what regular exterior cleaning does for a building - it keeps the presentation where it should be and protects the surface from long-term buildup that can be harder to reverse the longer it sits.
